Old Mount Holly Road Improvements A One Cent Sales Tax Program
Berkeley County has proposed road improvements along Old Mount Holly Road, a key route for residents and commuters in Goose Creek, connecting between US 176 and US 52.

Project Area
Old Mount Holly Road is a busy route that provides key access to neighborhoods, businesses, industrial plants, and churches. The proposed road improvements will consist of widening Old Mount Holly Road from US 176 to US 52. The project will also evaluate replacing the bridge in this corridor that lies east of the Old Moncks Corner Highway intersection.
The project is part of Berkeley County’s Transportation Sales Tax program and is being developed in coordination with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT). The project team will also coordinate with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), as it has partial federal funding.
Project Schedule
The project kicked off with surveying and evaluating potential alternatives for environmental considerations. Construction is expected to begin in 2027.

- Fall 2026 - Public Meeting for Preferred Alternative
- 2027 - Construction Plan Approval and Environmental Permitting, Advertise for Contruction, NTP and Completion
